IPL3. Day 17. Match.25. Mumbai Indians Vs Deccan Chargers

Mumbai Indians 172 for 7 made a mincemeat of the Deccan Chargers 131 all out in 17.4 overs, and ran away with a huge 41 run victory.

Shikar Dhawan fell early. Bravo and Tendulkar built up a reasonable partnership and were at 63 for 1 at the end of 7th over. R.P Singh picked up two wickets in the 8th and MI lost wickets regularly. Their score read a miserable 100 for 6 at 15th.

At this stage an avalanche hit Deccan Chargers. In the last five overs, they were blasted for 72 runs for the loss of one wicket. In fact 52 runs came of the last three. Tendulkar played a grand 55 of 43. I saw a one liner in the face book from an young enthusiast, which read, when Sachin is in a song, every other team goes wrong. How apt. Bajji played a memorable 49 of 17 deliveries with 8 fours and 2 sixers. MI finished at 172 for 7. Of the Chargers bowlers R.P.Singh with 3 for 31, Jaskaran with 2 for 30 and Ojha with 2 for 24 were among the wickets.

Deccan Chargers were knocked out by Bajji and they started with a mental block. Gilchrist was taken in the slips by Tendulkar of Bajji for nought, in the second ball. Gibbs with 27 of 16 and Rohit Sharma with 45 of 28 were the only worthwhile contributors. Zaheer with 3 for 21, Harbhajan with 3 for 31 and Malinga with 3 for 12. tore through the Chargers batting lineup.
Deccan were bowled out for 131 in 17.4 overs and lost the match by 41 runs.
Come on Mumbai and Sachin. In you we see a potential winner of IPL3.
