IPL3-Day.14. Match.21- Chennai Super Kings Vs Mumbai Indians

As the games are entering the third week of the competition, teams are planning the game professionally. Chennai Super Kings, who were heavily dependent on Hayden and his magic, played with purpose in spite of Hayden given out LBW to Bajji for a quick 20 of 12. The ball was outside the line of off stump at the time of impact. A dubious decision. Parthiv left early too playing on a McLaren yorker on to the stumps for 8.

Raina and Badri played out a great unbroken, record partnership of 142 runs of 91 Balls. There were no massive hits. Each and every stroke was played with merit. Raina made 83 of 52 and Badri a more sedate 55 of 45. Chennai Super Kings finished at a respectable 180 for 2 .
Excepting Harbhajan 4.0.25.1 & McLaren 4.0.23.1, all the other bowlers went for plenty.Zaheer a colourless 4.0.45.0, Bravo 4.0.42.0 and Malinga 4.0.42.0. Malinga's figures would have been worse, but for his 4th and team's 20th, only 7 runs were scored.
With the master blaster in your side and in sublime form, the opponents can just be spectators. Sachin made a steady unbeaten 72 in 52 deliveries. MI had a dream start, with Shikar Dhawan blasting away 56 of 34 deliveries. Balaji and Joginder Sharma were taken to the cleaners. At one stage Mumbai Indians were 133 for 3 in 15, with about 50 to get at 10 per over. A Perera over at this stage when he was carted for 19 runs, made it easy for the Mumbai Indians. With Pollard making a brisk 20 of 9 and Bravo 14 of 7, The game was over in the 19th over. Mumbai Indians won by 5 wkts
Perhaps Dhoni should have tried an over or two by man in form Suresh Raina. You never know.
In any case Chennai Super Kings do not have the fire power and are rightly placed in the bottom.
