IPL3. Day.18. Match 26. Delhi Daredevils Vs Kolkatta Knight Riders

Delhi Daredevils 177 for 4 beat Kolkatta Knight Riders 137 for 9 by 40 runs.

Delhi Daredevils batting first were shaken in the first three overs loosing Sehwag for 8, Gambhir for 1 and Dinesh Kartik for nothing. Warner on the other side was going hammer and tongs. At 38 for 3, Collingwood joined Warner and the pair added 128 runs for the fourth wicket, which was a record in IPL. Collingwood made a polished 53 in 45 deliveries, before holing out to a out of the world catch by Hussey. The ball was travelling beyond the boundary, Hussey pulled the ball back as he was going over the ropes. As the ball was in mid air, Hussey jumped back and took the ball in the air and landed within the boundary. A catch one should have seen to believe.
Warner remained unbeaten on a classic 107 of 69 deliveries, the second century in IPL3.
DD finished at 177 for 4. Langelveldt took 2 for 35 and Gayle and Ishant took a wicket each. Ishant was given just one over, not that the other bowlers did well. As usual Murli Kartik was the most economical bowler at, and this bowler was not given a look by the selectors for WC.T20.
KKR did nothing of note in reply and were just swept out for 137 for 9, giving Devils a 40 runs victory. Gayle went for 30 of 21, Hussey 29 of 32 and Angelo 24 of 21. All the Daredevil bowlers were amongst the wickets. Mc Donald and Uday Yadav took two wickets each. Nennes, Bhatia,Amit Mishra and Collingwood chipped in with a wicket each. Amit Mishra bowled a brilliant spell of I see no reason why Mishra has been left out of WC T20. To top it the bowler to get in was Chawla, who has been pathetic in IPL3.
So at Half way mark, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers, Delhi Daredevils and Rajasthan Royals, are better placed for the semi final spot. Chennai Super Kings and Kings XI Punjab does not appear to have any chance at this stage.
