Champions League 2010- Day3. Match4. Redbacks AUS vs Lions SA

South Australia Redbacks 178 for 7 beat Lions SA 167 for 8 , in a match between captains. In what turned out to be a match, matching the skills of skippers, Redbacks captain Michael Klinger's 78 runs of 48 balls scored over Alviro Petersen's 56 runs of 35 balls.

Redbacks innings was steady, without being spectacular. Ferguson 47 of 34, supported Klinger ball to ball. Reasonable partnerships, wicket to wicket, helped Redbacks to score a decent 178 for six, at twenty.Phangiso, bowled well for his one wicket for 22 runs. Three run outs brought forth by de Bruyn, Petersen and Frylinck, were spectacular.

At 3 for 93, with Petersen and McKenzie in the 11 th over, Lions looked a sure shot winner.Unfortunate run out of McKenzie, by Putland for 15 was the turning point and Lions never recovered thereafter.Petersen's wicket in the 13th over, for a well made 54 sealed the fate of Lions.Tsolekile 23 of 31 and Frylinck 17 of 9, did their bit. Tait 3 for 36 was express fast with some deliveries going over 150 KM .Christian with 2 wickets and O'Brien with a wicket bowled well.

In a way, Lion's losing to Redbacks will be blessing in disguise for Mumbai Indians. If MI beat the Redbacks, it is all square one.
