C L T-20. 2010. Day.9. Match.14. Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers

Mumbai Indians 165 for 7 beat Royal Challengers 163 for 5 by two runs. In spite of the win, Mumbai Indians are out of the race for a semi final berth, due to a lower quotient.

At fve down for 85 in the thirteenth over, it appeared curtains for Mumbai Indians. Tiwary 38 of 30 and Bravo 29 of 17, took them to a fighting 165 after a good 41 of 37, by Shikar Dhawan upfront. Steyn bowled his heart out to bag 3 wickets for 26 runs. Praveen, Vinay and Kallis picked up a wicket a piece. The caught & bowled chance missed by Kumble of Bravo was the turning point of the match, which ultimately proved to be an expensive miss.

Royal Challengers were given a steady start of 41 in five overs by Kallis 15 of 14 and unbeaten 71 of 58 by Rahul Dravid. Uthappa, Taylor and White perished early, before a blistering 47 of 24 by the young Virat Kohli. Kohli was stumped last ball, with RC -163, tantalisingly close to MI score of 165. Bravo 2 for 23, was supported by Zaheer, Ahmed and Harbhajan with a wicket each.

In spite of the loss RC will fight for the second spot in the group, with Lions. Challengers match with Lions will almost be a quarterfinals, with the winner going throughin spite of a three way tie between RC, Lions and MI.
