ICC-WC 2011. Gr.A. Match.6. Pakistan vs Kenya

Pakistan 317 for 7 powered their way to a mammoth victory over Kenya 112 all out by 205 runs. Pakistanis can never be written off. They are the best team on display till now, with a balanced batting and bowling attack.

Pakistan chose to bat, after winning the toss, and were in trouble at the initial phase, losing two wickets for 12 runs in the seventh over. Kamran Akmal 55 0f 67 and Yunis 50 of 67, steadied the ship with a solid 98 run partnership, in 18 overs. Misbah 65 of 69 and Umar Akmal 71 of 52 built on the innings score well supported by Mr.Extras at 46.

Kenyans bowled with a mixture of excellence and shabbiness, and were surprisingly poor in the field too. Odoyo 3 for 41, Otieno , Ngoche, Kamande and Tikolo picked up a wicket each.

Kenyans were no match for the top line Pakistani bowlers and were just blown away. Shahid Afridi ran through the side with a spell of 8.3.16.5. Umar Gul 2 for 12 and Hafeez 1 for 26 were the other wicket takers.

Pakistani batting line up may be tested against better opponents, but they have an excellent bowling combination, which can win them close matches. Watch out for this team.
