
In a thoroughly one sided match, Zimbabwe 162 all out, were steamrolled to submission by New Zealand 166 for no loss, by a massive ten wickets.
Electing to bat on a good wicket, Zimbabwe never recovered from a poor start. Even before one could blink his eyes, five wickets were down for 46 runs .Taylor played a lone crusader role and made 44 of 57 when Styris got him LBW, with a full length delivery. Lamb, Utseya and Cremer, made 18,36 & 22 respectively, and Zimbabwe folded for 162 in the 47th over. Southee 9.2-3-29-3, KD Mills 10-0-29-2, Vettori 10-3-25-2 and Styris 4-0-13-1 , bowled well.
Guptil 86 of 104 balls, and Brenden McCullum 76 of 95 balls, serenely took the New Zelanders to a comfortable victory, with an unbeaten opening partnership of 166 runs.
