ICC-CWC-2011. Match.27. Gr.B. West Indies vs Ireland

West Indies 275 all out in 50 overs, beat Ireland 239 all out by 44 runs, to clinch its place in the quarters.

DS Smith carved out a good 107 in 133 balls, supported by a sedate 35 of 62 balls by Chandrapaul. Pollard hammered out a T20 style innings of 94 in 55 balls to take West Indies to some sort of respectability.

275 is always a gettable score, particularly for the Irish, who have performed manfully till now. Joyce 84 of 106, NJ O'Brien 25 of 31 and Wilson 61 of 62 were going great guns and Irish looked probable winners at the 37th over, with four down and 98 to get. Wilson was done in by the controversial UDRS for 61 in the 41 st over with a team total of 199. Ireland succumbed to pressure thereafter and were bowled out in the 49th over for 239.

Suleman Benn 10-0-53-4 ans skipper Sammy 10-3-31-3 bowled brilliantly. Ireland are out of the quarters, but will go with their heads held high for the way they have played the tourney.
