ICC-CWC-2011. Match.34. Gr.B. South Africa vs Ireland

South Africa 272 for 7 trounced Ireland 141 all out by 131 runs at the Eden Gardens, Calcutta.

South Africa batting first at the Eden Gardens, with a lush outfield, made 272 for seven. with contributions from, Duminy 99 of 103 balls, MN van Wyk 42 of 41 balls and Ingram 46 of 43 balls. Rankin. Johnston, Mooney, Dockrel and Stirling picked a wicket each.

Ireland lost wickets early and at regular intervals to be bowled out for 141 in the 34th over. Wilson made 31 of 48 balls. Morkel 3 for 33, Petersen 3 for 32, Kallis 2 for 20, Botha 1 for 32 and Duminy 1 for 11 were amongst the wickets.

With this victory, South Africa became the first team from Group.B. to qualify for the Quarter Finals. There is a rat race for places 2 to 4 in Group B, between India, West Indies, Bangladesh and England. the next four days will be interesting.
