ICC-CWC-2011.Match.17. Gr.A. Pakistan vs Canada

Pakistan 184 all out beat Canada 138 all out, by 46 runs in a low scoring match at Premadasa. Batting first on a slow wicket, and a slower outfield. Pakistan could not sustain the Canadian spinners to be bowled out for 184 in 43 overs. Misbah 37 of 68 and Umar Akmal 48 of 68 were the only batsmen, who had a bit of control over the Canadian bowling. Baidwan 8-1-35-3, Cheema 8-1-33-2 , Balaji Rao 10-0-50-2 and Hansra 6-1-33-2 mesmerised the opposition.

Canada in their reply, could never take control of the game at any stage. Afridi with one more five wicket haul at 10-0-23-5, routed the Canadians for 138 in 43 overs to take Pakistan victors by 46 runs.

An interesting observation. The pitches at Bangla Desh and Sri Lanka are spinning tracks , offering low and uneven bounce. Their out field are large and slow. Where as the Indian pitches seem to be full of runs, with smallish boundaries and fast out field. This may help India, when the teams who have played outside India, face them in Indian conditions. The spinners who have played major part in their victories with ease, may have to purchase their wickets in Indian conditions. Will it be so. Let us see.
