ICC-CWC.2011. Match.26. Gr.A. Sri Lanka vs Zimbabwe


With a record opening wicket partnership of 282 runs in 44 overs, between Dilshan 144 of 131 and Upul Tharanga 133 of 141, Sri Lanka 327 for six, annihilated Zimbabwe 188 all out by 139 runs. Mpofu had the consolation of picking four wickets for 62 runs.

In spite of a good start by Brendon Taylor 80 of 72 and Chakabva 35 of 61, the Zimbabweans were bundled out for 188 in 39 overs. Tilakaratne Dilshan returned an enviable figures of 3-1-4-4 , to pick up the well deserved man of the match. Murali 3 for 34, Mathews 2 for 29 and Perera 1 for 33 picked up the other wickets.


Sri Lanka is assured of a quarters berth, and the further match results will determine its position.
