ICC-CWC.2011. Semi Finals.2. India vs Pakistan

India 260 for 9 in fifty overs, beat Pakistan 231 all out by 29 runs, to enter the finals of ICC-CWC2011, to be played at Wankhede stadium, against Sri Lanka. On the day Indians were clear victors. The Indian bowling machine clicked as a unit, and seemed to have peaked at the right time.

Batting first on a pitch, which was offering a low bounce and spin, India were given a flying start by Sehwag making thunderous 38 of 25 balls. Tendulkar made a non characteristic 85 of 115 balls with four lives, In fact when on 25, Tendulkar was adjusted LBW, by Ian Gould and escaped the anvil through UDRS, the ball clearly missing the leg stump. Gambhir made a brisk 27 of 32, and exited in the customary fashion of getting out when set.

Pakistan bowlers, with Wahab Riaz bowling brilliantly. supported by Ajmal, Hafeez and Afidi, in controlling mid and end overs, restricted India to 260 runs on a wicket full of runs. Wahab finished with an excellent spell of 10-0-46-5. Ajmal took 2 for 44 and Hafeez 1 for 34. Thanks to a brilliant 36 of 39 by Raina, India could go past 250.

Pakistan started sedately and at 44 runs in the ninth over lost Kamran Akmal caught Yuvraj bowled Zaheer for 19 of 21. Hafeez went in the 16th over for 43 of 59 balls, caught by Dhoni of Munaf's out swinger. Asad Shafiq & Yunis Khan added 33 runs over nine overs, Yunis labouring for 13 of 32 and Asad a good 30 of 39, before both were taken at a team score of 103 and 106.

Umar akmal, joined Misbha and made a quick fire 29 of 24, when Harbhajan castled him with a top spinner. Abul Razzaq followed with the team score reading 150 of 6, bowled by Munaf for 3. Afridi joined Misbha and made a customary quick 19 of 17, when Harbhajan had him caught by Sehwag.

India went for the kill and took wickets at regular intervals. Misbha made a sedate 56 of 76 and at no time looked to be playing for a team's cause. Pakistan were bowled out for 231 in the 50th over, to leave India victors by 29 runs.

Indian bowling machine have peaked at the right time. All the bowlers bowled well. Zaheer 9.5-0-58-2, Nehra 10-0-33-2, Munaf 10-1-40-2, Harbhajan 10-0-43-2, and Yuvraj 10-1-57-2. shared the spoils equally.

India's confidence will be on the high now, when they meet Sri Lanka, for their third entry to a World Cup finals. But the Sri Lankan's are on the high too, and no team can afford to be complacent.

India are just a game away. The Men in Blue, can do it and will do it.
